"I met and started mat Pilates with Madelyn about six weeks after delivering my 5th baby. She took the time to ask questions about the postpartum recovery process, which I appreciated. Madelyn also took the time to collaborate with my strength trainer to understand how we had been working together and ensure we were all aligned around my goals. As a 43 year old woman who is focused on strength, posture/alignment, and mobility, I feel Pilates hits an effective balance for all three.
Madelyn introduced me to a studio reformer machine within a few weeks of working with her and I have been hooked ever since. Within a few months I committed to purchasing my own reformer. At the beginning of each session Madelyn checks in with me to see what is going on with my body on that given day. She then tailors the session accordingly within the construct of classical Pilates, while continuing to work on ongoing issues, such as my ankle stability.
I have now been working with Madelyn three days a week for about six months now. I have noticed my core strength improve dramatically, as has my strength trainer. I can not only lift heavier weights, but do so with better form. In my Pilates session I am able to now perform exercises with ease that I could barely do when I first started with Madelyn.
Outside of the gym I have noticed I pay more attention to my posture and can lift my children with more ease. I also experience fewer tension headaches than in prior years.
My 9 year old son and husband have also begin working with Madelyn on Saturday mornings. We enjoy working with her so much and are excited to see Madelyn grow her practice! ”

First of all it became obvious right away how well she was prepared for that class. Her stretching routine was designed to prepare us for the following exercises. She carefully chose exercises to make sure that most of the body parts got involved.
Her directions and verbal cues were very clear and easy to follow. She managed to pay attention to each and every member of the class and make individual corrections without interrupting the others.
